Medal of Honor Convention 2027 Logo

The logo for the Medal of Honor Convention 2027 was designed to honor the legacy of the Medal of Honor recipients while celebrating Birmingham as the host city. The goal was to create a mark that feels modern, respectful, and enduring—appropriate for a national event of this significance, while remaining grounded in place.

Vulcan, Birmingham’s most recognizable symbol and the world’s largest cast-iron statue, became the natural foundation of the design. Long associated with the city’s industrial heritage, Vulcan represents strength, resilience, and craftsmanship. In the logo, his upward gaze and raised spear suggest integrity, vigilance, and purpose. The pose implies a moment of inspection—ensuring the spear is straight and true—which serves as a visual metaphor for the honor and courage embodied by the Medal of Honor.

The thirteen stars surrounding Vulcan reference the stars on the Medal of Honor’s sash, directly tying the city’s identity to the history and symbolism of the award. Together, these elements connect Birmingham’s story with the values represented by the Medal, creating a mark that is both locally meaningful and nationally recognizable.

The final logo balances dignity and approachability, designed to work across a wide range of applications while maintaining a clear, respectful presence for the 2027 convention.
