Ongoing Design Support

Some organizations need a designer for one project. Many need one they can call again and again: when the marketing team is stretched thin, when the annual publication comes around, or when something needs to be done right the first time. I'm Shawn Wright, a Birmingham graphic designer, and much of my work comes from clients who have relied on me for years.

Direct Access, Without the Agency

When you work with me, you work directly with me. There are no account managers, no junior designers learning on your project, and no layers between your request and the person doing the work. Many of my clients came to me after working with agencies and wanted something simpler: one experienced designer who understands their organization and gets the work done.

Who I Work With

  • Marketing and communications teams that need an extra set of experienced hands
  • University departments and programs working within institutional brand standards
  • Organizations without a designer on staff that still need professional work regularly

The Work I Handle

Working Within Your System

I work within your brand standards, your templates, and your review process. You don't have to change how your team works to bring me in. Over time I learn your organization's preferences, so each project takes less explanation than the last.

How It Works

  1. Reach out. Call or email with the project and your deadline.
  2. Get an estimate. I'll provide a written estimate. If you're working with a set budget, let me know, and I can often shape the work to fit it.
  3. Review and delivery. I do the work, your team reviews it, and you receive final files.

After the first project, most clients simply call or email when the next one comes up.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do you price ongoing work?

Each project starts with an estimate. If you have a set budget, tell me up front, and I can often adjust the scope to fit it.

How quickly can you respond?

I respond promptly. For deadline-driven work, the more notice you can give, the better.

Can you work with our brand standards and templates?

Yes. Much of my work is for UAB and other organizations with established brand standards. Working within a system is part of the job.

Do you work through agencies?

I work directly with organizations, so you always know who's doing your work.

What if we're not sure what we need?

That's common. The Design Audit is built to help you sort out priorities before you commit to a project.
